CubeX SAL is a Lebanese social enterprise founded in 2018 and specialized in resource-oriented bio-waste management. We design and deliver wastewater treatment solutions all while providing consultancy services and raising awareness of the importance of wise water usage. Our line of services covers but is not limited to households, municipalities, vulnerable communities, agro-industrialists, and more. At CubeX SAL, we aim at making wastewater treatment more accessible by providing local, low-cost, and low-tech solutions. We promote the sustainable management of waste resources by turning bio-waste into a bio-resource and implementing resilient solutions anchored in the circular economy approach and adapted to the local context. Our first product was the Cubex unit. It is a 3-stage household scale system that relies on biological treatment to reduce sludge accumulation, thus the frequency of desludging. Decantra is our newest innovative wastewater solution. It is a dewatering vehicle that addresses the frequent need for desludging from septic systems. It separates the water from the solids on-site, returns the water after basic filtration, and only collects the solids for drop-off at a composting facility to produce a sludge-based compost for reuse. Given the reduction in transported volumes by dewatering, Decantra offers a reduced service fee compared to vacuum desludging trucks and allows to service more houses per haul. It also offers alternatives for governments to address fecal sludge management without requiring any infrastructure. With Decantra, homeowners and development agencies will pay a reduced service fee without any additional infrastructural requirements or change in user behavior, all while ensuring that the wastewater is treated before discharge.
