In Erbil, cewas Middle East and BORDA started a 2.5 years program component “Innovation in Sanitation Hands-on Program” with Erbil Sewerage Directorate which has the overall goal of improving the sanitation situation in Erbil governorate including specifically the faecal sludge management in peri-urban areas. Cewas Middle East and BORDA’s dedication is now being toward facilitating innovation in sanitation by building the capacity of the relevant directorates’ officials/ members through a training program and explore together the elements that, if existed, would enable the environment that would ensure the sustainability of an implemented FSM system.
